Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials to the professional market, is seeking an experienced Outside Sales professional in Wisconsin. This base salary role plus commission rewards performance and values your customer focus, product knowledge, and leadership potential.

You will develop contracts for residential, multi-family and commercial projects, train less experienced reps, and may act as Sales Manager in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field preferred plus two (2) years prior sales experience.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills are essential.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company during the sales process by collecting data on customer needs and design specifications, and acting as a liaison between inside technical/design staff and customer in developing sales proposals.
• Develops sales contracts for residential, multi-family and commercial projects by collecting specification information from the client’s engineer or architect and conveying needs to staff and management.
• Troubleshoots field issues which may be difficult to resolve or are complex in nature.
• Effectively plans and conducts sales presentations for current and prospective customers and demonstrates products and services to meet needs.
• Researches, identifies and solicits new customers and generates sales opportunities.
• Maintains updates with customers on products and services and explains how they meet requirements.
• Helps train and develop less experienced outside sales reps and may act as Sales Manager in the absence of the manager.
• Prepares recurring and special reports or documentation for management.
• Attends company-sponsored training programs to grow product knowledge and sales skills.
