Job summary

ScottsMiracle-Gro is seeking a Sales Manager to lead our Field Sales team and manage an assigned territory. You will cultivate world-class relationships with major home center partners, drive in-store presence, and develop sales/marketing plans.

You will oversee merchandising execution, supervise Merchandisers, and manage budget while leveraging strategic selling for growth across Home Depot, Lowe’s and other retailers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management.
• Strong delegation skills are preferred.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Experience using sales forecasting tools.
• A problem solving and service oriented attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers including planning, scheduling and delegating work assignments along with providing ongoing feedback.
• Utilize strategic selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics to educate our home center retail partners on business opportunities.
• Develop retail sales/marketing plans and other creative marketing tools and events.
• Develop recruiting plans, interviewing, and make hiring decisions to build out your Merchandiser team while effectively managing your budget.
• Provide job training and communicate product knowledge across the portfolio of Scotts brands.
• Assist retailers in proper merchandising of Scotts product lines, including the use of point-of-purchase materials, as appropriate, to meet account needs.
