Job summary

ScottsMiracle-Gro is seeking a Sales Manager in Visalia, CA to lead our Field Sales team and manage a district. You will develop strong relationships with major home center partners like The Home Depot and Lowe’s and drive in-store presence of Scotts brands across your territory by executing sales plans and budgets.

You will recruit and supervise Merchandisers, forecast performance, train staff, and ensure merchandising standards across stores.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management.
• Preferred experience supervising/managing other employees and a budget.
• Strong delegation skills.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Experience using sales forecasting tools.
• A problem solving and service oriented attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to walk, stand, climb an 8-12 foot ladder, lift up to 45 lbs and be exposed to weather elements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers, including planning, scheduling, and delegating.
• Utilize strategic selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics to educate our home center retail partners.
• Develop retail sales/marketing plans and other creative marketing tools and events.
• Develop recruiting plans, interviewing, and hiring decisions to grow the Merchandiser team while managing the budget.
• Provide job training and communicate product knowledge across the Scotts brands portfolio.
• Assist retailers in proper merchandising of Scott’s product lines, including use of point-of-sale materials.
