Job summary

Graybar is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to drive growth in a specialized market. You will develop new prospects and maintain contact with established customers, visiting them at their sites or other off-site locations.

You will meet or exceed annual gross margin budgets, handle customer issues, maintain records, and participate in training and trade shows. Extensive travel and a vehicle for business are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience required.
• 4+ years experience preferred.
• 4-year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory and in compliance with pricing policies.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions; assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
