Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with workplace inspections, incident investigations and job-hazard analysis.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain safety requirements to operational leaders and frontline Team Members.
• Sound judgment, calm response to urgent situations and dependable follow-through.
• Fleet safety experience and environmental management systems knowledge are assets.

Responsibilities

• Support Gateway's operations across the Central region as a field-facing H&S professional.
• Partner with operational leaders, conduct workplace assessments and inspections, and support incident investigations.
• Help identify practical preventive actions and ensure commitments are followed after investigations or audits.
• Build trusted relationships with Managing Directors, Regional Managers, Care Center Managers and Team Members.
• Use data to identify recurring risks and recommend practical improvements.
