Job summary

Gateway Services Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support operations across the Central region. This field-facing role partners with operations leaders, conducts workplace assessments, supports incident investigations and translates safety requirements into practical actions.

This position requires travel up to 50%, works closely with Care Center teams, and aims to drive safer, compliant operations through hands-on coaching and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• At least four years of relevant safety experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution or another multi-site operational environment.
• Experience with workplace inspections, incident investigations and job-hazard analysis.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain safety requirements to operational leaders and frontline Team Members.
• Fleet safety experience and knowledge of safety or environmental management systems are assets.
• Willingness to speak up when something is not safe while maintaining productive relationships with Operations.
• Regional field role requiring travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations to understand priorities and safety challenges and provide practical advice.
• Conduct workplace inspections and incident investigations; support root-cause analyses.
• Help implement and monitor safety policies, tools, campaigns and learning programs.
• Use data to identify recurring risks and recommend practical improvements.
• Support return-to-work planning and timely field information after injuries.
