Job summary

Gateway Services is North America's leading pet aftercare provider and is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support operations across the Central region. This field-facing role partners with Managing Directors, Regional Managers, Care Center Managers and frontline teams to assess risks, conduct inspections and drive practical safety improvements.

You will translate safety policies into actionable practices, assist with investigations and return-to-work plans, and use data to identify

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• 4+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, distribution or multi-site environments.
• Experience with workplace inspections, incident investigations and job-hazard analysis.
• Strong communication skills to explain safety requirements to operational leaders and frontline team members.
• Fleet safety experience and exposure to safety or environmental management systems are assets.
• Willingness to speak up for safety while maintaining productive relationships with Operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace assessments and inspections in Care Center operations.
• Support incident investigations and identify preventive actions.
• Help translate safety requirements into practical actions for leaders and teams.
• Partner with Operations to understand priorities and safety challenges.
• Maintain regional safety data and analyze incident trends to identify recurring risks.
• Provide timely field information and local support after injuries and incidents.
