Job summary

Haydon in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Safety Specialist to serve as the primary EHS representative for construction projects and operations, partnering with Operations to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role provides field leadership, coaching, and technical safety support to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure every employee returns home safely each day, including incident investigations and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in a safety-related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of construction safety experience or equivalent.
• Experience with OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
• Experience in inspections, investigations, and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Lead field safety leadership on assigned projects and operations.
• Conduct hazard assessments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate incidents and develop corrective action plans.
• Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and site-specific training.
• Maintain safety metrics, inspection and incident reports; drive continuous improvement.
• Exercise stop-work authority for imminent danger and communicate with project leadership.
