Job summary

Haydon is seeking a Safety Specialist to serve as the primary EHS representative for assigned construction projects and operations in the Phoenix area. You will partner with Operations to identify hazards, provide field leadership, coaching, and training to promote a proactive safety culture.

The role requires 3–5 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, and ability to stop work for imminent danger.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
3-5 years of construction safety experience or equivalent construction operations experience with increasing responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
Working knowledge of EPA, DOT and applicable environmental regulations.
Ability to identify hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary safety representative for assigned construction projects and operational areas.
Build relationships with project managers, superintendents, foremen, craft employees, and trade partners to promote safety.
Conduct routine site visits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Provide coaching and real-time feedback to employees and supervisors.
Lead investigations involving injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents.
Prepare investigation reports and monitor corrective actions.
