Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Safety and Health Specialist to support field operations across Maryland project sites. You will implement safety policies, train personnel, and coordinate with managers to reduce injuries and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include leading safety meetings, conducting audits, and preparing emergency plans. The role requires CHST certification, OSHA training, and a proven construction safety track record, with willingness to work long hours including nights

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent.
• 5+ years of safety/health experience in construction preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide safety training to personnel.
• Support pre-job safety planning and emergency response planning.
• Lead safety meetings and training programs.
• Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
• Investigate injuries and incidents and document findings.
• Disseminate safety updates and regulatory changes.
• Identify personnel needing assistance or training on safety requirements.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and vendors.
