Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Safety & Health professional to support field operations across various construction projects in Virginia.

You will implement safety policies, train personnel, and lead hazard assessments to prevent injuries and incidents, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The role requires a Bachelor in Safety and Health with 5+ years of construction safety experience, CHST certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and company safety policies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in high production environment (50+ hours/week).
• Ability to think independently and influence corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide training and education on safety and health requirements.
• Support pre-job safety planning and emergency response plans.
• Lead safety meetings and training programs.
• Conduct safety audits, evaluations, inspections, and behavioral observations.
• Assist in investigation of injuries and incidents.
• Develop and issue safety correspondence.
• Update team on regulatory changes.
• Identify team members needing training or support.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and vendors.
• Serve as contact for OSHA or regulatory authorities when needed.
