Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a seasoned safety and health professional to oversee field safety programs on complex construction projects in the Richmond, VA area. You will develop plans, conduct trainings, and coordinate with site teams to ensure regulatory compliance and injury prevention.

The role requires CHST certification, OSHA 30/10, and a strong track record in high‑production environments. Expect 50+ hours weekly and uptime for safety leadership across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of training and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in construction safety and health.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide training on safety and health requirements to personnel.
• Support pre-job safety planning and emergency response plans.
• Lead safety meetings and training programs to communicate policy.
• Conduct safety audits, evaluations, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Investigate injuries and incidents and document findings.
• Distribute safety correspondence and keep teams updated on regulatory changes.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and vendors.
• Serve as a contact for OSHA and other authorities when needed.
