Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to support field operations and ensure adherence to company and client safety policies.

You will assist managers in implementing health and safety strategies across multiple projects, focusing on reducing injuries and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role requires a Bachelor in Safety and Health, CHST and related certifications, and 5+ years of construction safety experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent.
• 5+ years of safety/health experience in construction preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA regulations and related safety policies.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high production environment.
• Ability to influence frontline supervisors to improve safety.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CHST, OSHA 30/10 Trainer, CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide training and education on safety requirements.
• Support pre-job safety planning and emergency response plans.
• Lead safety meetings and training programs.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Assist in investigating injuries and incidents.
• Develop and issue safety correspondence.
• Keep team updated on safety policy changes.
• Identify teammates needing safety training or support.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and vendors.
• Serve as contact for OSHA or other authorities when needed.
