Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to learn and apply programs, regulations, and guidelines to keep workers safe across North America. You will support field teams, develop site safety policies, and assist audits, coaching, and training while traveling to project sites as required.

This internship offers hands-on experience in construction management, with exposure to safety metrics, regulatory compliance, and real-world safety operations in a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies.
• Willingness to work hard and complete tasks.
• Ability to work with all organization levels and relocate if needed.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program.
• Monitor construction projects for regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to creating site safety policies and procedures.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and safety metrics reporting.
• Review project work plans for safety conformance and assist in audits and training.
• Travel/relocation to project sites as required.
