Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to support field teams across North America. This internship offers hands-on exposure to Project Safety Programs, site policies, and regulatory compliance while learning how a major contractor protects workers.

You will rotate through project and office sites, develop practical safety skills, participate in audits and training, and gain travel experience as projects require relocation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Experience with Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel/relocate.
• Ability to work with all levels in the organization.
• Independent and able to work in a team.
• Ability to access construction sites in varying climates.
• Must maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including site safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in monitoring construction projects for compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Establish and monitor safe working conditions and provide corrective action recommendations.
• Assist in safety program audits, coaching and onsite training.
• Travel and relocation may be required for projects.
