Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to learn and contribute to our Project Safety Program while supporting field teams across North America. This hands-on internship focuses on safety regulations, guidelines, and the development of site safety policies to help keep workers safe on diverse projects.

You will assist with monitoring activities, audits, coaching, and on-site training, engaging with teams from craft to leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements (federal/state).
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including site safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor project activities for compliance with regulations, client and company policies.
• Establish and monitor safe working conditions for personnel and assets.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in safety program audits, coaching and training.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required for projects.

Education

Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study
