Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to support the Project Safety Program on North American projects. You will learn about OSHA requirements, site policies, and safety audits while rotating through field and office roles.

This internship offers hands-on learning, relocation opportunities, travel, and the chance to join a team dedicated to protecting workers and delivering major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study.
• Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skill.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership.
• The ability to travel and relocate as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including development of site safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor construction project activities for compliance with government regulations, client, and company policies.
• Assist in establishing and monitoring safe working conditions and provide corrective action recommendations.
• Support safety program audits, coaching, and regular onsite training.
