Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry level Safety Specialist to support and audit safety programs across the Power Market. The role reinforces the "Nobody Gets Hurt" principle and works with craft teams in the field to uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities include developing and updating the SSSP, conducting hazard inspections, and leading safety trainings while supporting incident investigations. OSHA certifications and a related degree are preferred for applicants.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30/500/510 certifications or equivalent.
• Preferred degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, update, and communication of the SSSP to all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with field craft daily to promote safety program buy-in.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to enforce policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations using leading indicators.
• Assist with incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
