Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to develop, support and audit safety programs across projects in the Power Market. You will reinforce the company’s Nobody Gets Hurt philosophy by collaborating with field teams and subcontractors to implement the SSSP and keep sites safe.

Key responsibilities include assisting in program development, conducting hazard inspections, supporting incident investigations, and delivering OSHA/MSHA training.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Ability to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, and communication of safety programs to site personnel and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with craft workforce to promote buy-in and ownership of safety programs.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority to ensure compliance with policies and work plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with field operations based on leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER and client requirements.
