Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to help implement and audit our Site Specific Safety Plan in the field. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and support compliance with contract, client safety expectations, and safety manuals.

You will assist with incident investigations, hazard inspections, training, and maintaining OSHA/MSHA-aligned records. This role requires adaptability to various sites and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, Public Health or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority to enforce policies and safety plans.
• Plan, prioritize, and solve problems with field operations based on leading indicators.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain project files in compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations.
