Job summary

Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) Technology Deployment team within Amazon Robotics (AR) seeks a Systems Engineer to oversee large scale deployment of industrial automation across North America stores network. You will lead field installations, coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams, and manage on-site deployment from planning through go-live.

This is a travel-heavy role (up to 75%), with relocation to Seattle, Boston, or Austin possible.

Qualifications

• 1+ years Linux systems administration and/or development experience.
• 1+ years in two or more languages (Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Bash).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience in a 24/7 production environment.
• 1+ years reading CAD models and working on mechanical/electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical documentation and process instructions.
• Ability to travel extensively across the US and potentially internationally.
• Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Manage deployment of large-scale industrial automation technologies.
• Own onsite coordination of installation and testing to meet go-live dates.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, product managers, and site teams to refine deployment documents.
• Improve operational metrics and team processes through automation.
• Independently resolve technical problems during deployment.
• Create and improve standard work documents and guidebooks.
• Influence internal and partner teams to meet goals.
• Develop subject matter expertise in deployment domains.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical assessments.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives with measurable results.
