Job summary

Amazon Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) seeks a Robotics Systems Engineer I to lead field deployment projects across North America. You will oversee end-to-end installation, testing, and go-live coordination of industrial automation in fulfillment centers, collaborating with hardware engineers, PMs, and site teams.

This on-site, travel-heavy role requires strong electro-mechanical and network skills, experience with large deployments, and the ability to manage multiple projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field.
• Experience deploying robotics or automation in large-scale environments.
• Ability to travel up to 75% across North America.
• Strong troubleshooting and on-site project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage tactical deployment of large-scale industrial automation technologies.
• Own onsite coordination of installation and acceptance testing to go-live.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, PMs, product managers, and site teams to convert requirements into deployment docs.
• Improve operational metrics through automation and optimization.
• Resolve difficult technical problems during deployment with trade-offs as needed.
• Create and improve standard work documents and automation of team processes.
• Influence internal and partner teams toward goals.
• Develop deployment domain subject matter expertise and mentor junior engineers.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives with measurable results.
