Job summary

Amazon’s RDPI Technology Deployment team within Amazon Robotics is hiring a Systems Engineer to oversee large-scale deployment of industrial automation across North America stores. This field-based role requires traveling up to 75% and relocation to Seattle/Boston/Austin is possible.

You will manage on-site installation, testing, and documentation, coordinate with hardware, software, and operations teams, and drive continuous improvement while mentoring junior engineers and leading deployment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related STEM field.
• 2+ years Linux sysadmin or development experience.
• 1+ years exposure to two languages (Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Bash).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and 24/7 production environments.
• Experience reading CAD models and working with mechanical/electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the tactical deployment of large-scale industrial automation technologies.
• Own on-site coordination of installation and acceptance testing to achieve go-live date.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, program managers, product managers and site teams to refine deployment docs.
• Improve operational metrics and team processes through automation and optimization.
• Independently resolve difficult technical problems during deployment.
• Create and improve standard work documents and operational guides.
• Influence internal and partner teams to meet goals.
• Develop subject matter expertise in deployment domains.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical assessments.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives with measurable results.
