Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Construction Inspector in Chattanooga, TN to support field oversight on roadway and bridge projects. You will review plans, monitor quality, and ensure compliance with specifications while coordinating with senior staff and safety teams.

The role requires inspecting materials, conducting field audits, and documenting findings. Some night/weekend work and travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with inspection experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to project sites.
• Familiarity with GDOT and highway construction methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors in construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Monitor activities for quality and specification compliance.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage for conformance.
• Observe and verify materials sampling/testing (soils, asphalt, concrete).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold and promote safety practices in all activities.
