Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to perform field oversight and inspection for roadway and bridge projects. You will assist senior inspectors, review plans, and help ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include interpreting construction documents, reporting findings, and supporting QA teams. Some night/holiday/weekend work may be required due to project needs and conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Civil Engineering or related field with progressive inspection experience.
• Alternative: high school diploma with significant roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Must obtain GDOT certifications within 6 months where required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors in construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Monitor activities for compliance with quality standards and specs.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems for conformance to project requirements.
• Observe and verify materials sampling and testing ( soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete ).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and QA teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold safety practices in all construction activities.
