Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. You will collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

The role involves hands-on patient care, education, and clinical follow-up, with on-call rotations in accordance with company policy. A valid RT license and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure (Nurse with ventilator exposure, HME RT, or Healthcare Respiratory Therapist).
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments; communicate findings to physicians.
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions to home settings.
• Demonstrate and instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources.
