Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. The role blends hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

The position requires an Associate's degree in respiratory care, 1 year of clinical ventilator experience, and a valid RT license.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure, in roles such as Nurse, HME, or Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and staff on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Document patient care activities timely in company records.
• Contribute to quality tracking, compliance, and program development.
