Job summary

AdaptHealth in Chicago is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and facility settings. You will combine hands-on patient care with education and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

The role requires ventilator management, accurate documentation, and strong communication within interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in respiratory therapy required.
• 1 year of ventilator-exposed clinical experience requested.
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in all serviced states.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply knowledge of ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Assist in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Document patient care activities accurately in company records.
• Ensure HIPAA, PPE, and infection control compliance; participate in on-call rotation.
