Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator‑dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. You will perform clinical assessments, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes outside the hospital.

The role requires ventilator management skills, interpretation of patient records, and coordination with care teams to support smooth transitions to home

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA‑approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment and ventilators.
• Perform clinical assessments and document findings and care plans.
• Assist in discharge planning and transitions to home settings.
• Demonstrate proper use of ventilator units and supplies to patients and caregivers.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources.
• Conduct in‑services on equipment and topics for staff and referral sources.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in company systems.
• Ensure documentation supports quality tracking and regulatory compliance.
