Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. This Field Clinician role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to support safe, coordinated outcomes outside the hospital.

You will maintain ventilator equipment knowledge, perform assessments, participate in discharge planning, educate patients and caregivers,

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator dependent patients.
• Demonstrate and instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in company systems.
• Ensure documentation supports quality tracking and regulatory compliance.
• Promote AdaptHealth through coordination with referral sources.
• Act as a clinical resource within interdisciplinary teams.
