Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a field-based access and reimbursement specialist to educate providers on patient support programs, payer policies, and reimbursement processes within the Indianapolis and Detroit regions. You will collaborate with oncology teams and payor networks to optimize access and outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of coverage, coding, billing, and claims submission, with a focus on physician-administered therapies and specialty medicines.

Qualifications

• Oncology/hematology-oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement and appeals.
• Strong ability to communicate billing requirements at national and regional levels.

Responsibilities

• Educate HCPs on patient support programs, access tools and services.
• Educate on product-specific acquisition and access options and networks.
• Educate on resources to address access issues.
• Provide local expertise on payor policies to educate providers on payer issues and claims submission.
• Collaborate with Oncology internal stakeholders for key account management.
• Report payer trends related to approved products to Patient Services and MHC teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with providers within territory.
• Remain current on managed care, reimbursement and policy activities.
