Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Field Quality Senior Manager to establish and lead the Field Quality function within Safety Case & Quality Management. Drive fleet-level quality, RCCA tracking, and governance for field issues across Hardware, Software, and Operations.

You will build and mentor Field Quality Engineers/Technicians, own dashboards and data tooling, and collaborate across teams to improve fleet reliability and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Systems Engineering, or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in quality, field reliability, or related roles with increasing leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience with RCCA methodologies (8D, 5-Why) and corrective action systems (FMEA).
• Strong data-analysis skills; familiarity with dashboards, telemetry, and field-data systems.
• Practical experience coordinating Hardware and Software investigations with Operations/Service in a fleet environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management, written and verbal communication, and ability to influence across teams.
• Proven ability to develop processes, RASIC definitions, and governing playbooks for cross-functional programs.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and audits; experience with Jira, dashboards, and Python desirable.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Field Quality function to evaluate fleet issues and track RCCA lifecycles from detection through closure.
• Define scope, roles, and responsibilities (RASIC) for Field Quality activities and maintain the master Field Quality Playbook.
• Build and manage a team of Field Quality Engineers and Field Quality Technicians (hire and mentor as needed).
• Own Field Quality dashboard and field-data tooling; define metrics, KPIs, and reporting to monitor fleet health.
• Triage fleet issues, classify failures, and coordinate cross-functional investigations with Hardware, Software, Operations, and Service.
• Drive RCCA processes (8D, 5-Why); ensure timely CAPA assignment, verification, and closure.
• Coordinate escalation paths and serve as primary DRI for field-quality Go/No-Go and launch readiness.
• Collaborate with PM, Engineering, and Service to plan risk, rollout strategies, and sign-offs.
• Develop and maintain documentation, workflows, and training for consistent execution across locations.
• Use lean problem-solving and data-driven methods to identify top fleet issues and drive improvement.
• Represent Field Quality in reviews and audits; support ISO 9001 integration; mentor staff.
