Job summary

McMillen, Inc. designs and builds water resources projects and seeks a Quality Control Technician/Inspector to perform construction materials testing, inspections, and field documentation across concrete, earthwork, electrical, and environmental scopes.

Ideal candidates have strong field inspection experience, attention to detail, and the ability to read plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, and other docs. This role is based out of Poston, AZ.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in material sampling, testing, and construction inspection.
• Current ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience as an Erosion Control Coordinator or SWPPP Inspector preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, submittals and RFIs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect grading, forms, reinforcement placement, and embedded items prior to concrete placement.
• Perform fresh concrete testing: temperature, air content, unit weight, yield, cylinder sampling.
• Identify, store, and transport concrete strength specimens to the lab.
• Inspect concrete placement, finishing, and curing operations.
• Verify work conforms to plans, specs, and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of testing and inspection activities.
• Observe grading and compaction of aggregate, soil, and sand bedding.
• Inspect trenching, conduit and pipe installation, and backfill.
• Document testing results and field observations.
• Observe conduit installation and placement; verify against submittals.
• Perform environmental and erosion-control inspections as required.
