Job summary

McMillen, Inc. seeks an experienced Quality Control Technician/Inspector to perform construction materials testing, inspections, and field documentation for concrete, earthwork, electrical, and environmental scopes.

The ideal candidate reads and interprets plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, and other docs, works independently in the field, and maintains safety and quality records with precise documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in material sampling, testing, and construction inspection.
• Current ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Experience as Erosion Control Coordinator or SWPPP Inspector preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, and related docs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect grading, forms, reinforcing steel, and embedded items before concrete placement.
• Perform fresh concrete testing (temperature, air content, unit weight, yield, cylinder sampling).
• Identify, store, and transport concrete strength specimens to the lab.
• Inspect concrete placement, finishing, and curing; verify conformance with plans and specs.
• Maintain accurate records of testing and field observations.
• Document testing results and field observations; monitor erosion controls as required.
