Job summary

McMillen, Inc. seeks an experienced Quality Control Technician/Inspector to perform concrete and earthwork testing, inspections, and field documentation across multiple scopes, ensuring safety and quality on site.

The role requires the ability to read plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, and related documents and work independently in the field. The position is based out of Poston, AZ and demands strong records management, attention to detail, and rigorous adherence to project requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of material sampling, testing, and construction inspection.
• Current ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Reading and interpreting plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, and related documents.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect grading, forms, reinforcing steel placement, and embedded items prior to concrete placement.
• Perform fresh concrete testing: Temperature, Air content, Unit weight, Yield, Cylinder sampling.
• Identify, store, and transport concrete strength specimens to lab.
• Inspect concrete placement, finishing, and curing operations.
• Verify work conforms to plans, specs, and project requirements.
• Maintain records of testing and inspections.
• Observe grading and compaction of aggregate, soil, and sand bedding.
• Inspect trenching, conduit, and backfill; document results.
• Document testing results and field observations.
• Observe conduit installation and verify adherence to submittals.
• Perform environmental and erosion-control inspections as required.
