Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property, to train in handling 1st party property claims and support Insureds and Agents in Montgomery County, MD. The role offers remote work with mobile assignments and a company vehicle.

You will complete 9–12 months of structured training, gain knowledge to handle claims independently, and may deploy to catastrophe responses across states. Bachelor's degree and basic MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with strong communication and customer service background.
• Willingness to obtain active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes covering insurance policies, specific claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under close supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to investigate and evaluate all relevant facts and information and determine coverage for building damages per policy terms.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses and use as basis for estimates.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
• Demonstrate openness to continuous learning, particularly in AI and digital transformation.
