Job summary

Matheson is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to sell welding products to business and industrial customers. You will travel the Houston area, call on customers, demonstrate products, quote terms, and manage accounts, helping coordinate training and inventory activities.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and responsibility for sales data and reports. A driver’s license and welding-related education are required.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers, clients, vendors, managers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on customers and solicit orders.
• Displays or demonstrates product and emphasizes saleable features.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts.
• Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
