Job summary

WM is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee to onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage the performance of frontline drivers and helpers. The role spends most time in the field and begins early, around 6–7 am, supporting a team of 15–20 drivers.

This position emphasizes safety, documentation, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to participate in the WM Way and growth through our trainee program. Travel to customer sites may be required to resolve safety issues.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or HS diploma with 2 years relevant work experience.
• Eligible to work in the United States and 18+.
• Driver's license valid at hire.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach and mentor drivers and helpers.
• Daily meetings with frontline employees for communication and support.
• Provide timely coaching feedback and monitor performance.
• Promote safety and WM Way adherence on all shifts.
• Document route operations, attendance, DVIRs, and incidents.
• Visit customer sites to evaluate safety and service alternatives.
