Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Foreperson to oversee daily operations and guide crew activities on utility-line clearance projects. You will coordinate hiring needs, schedule work, enforce safety protocols, and mentor crew members in field practices.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with a focus on safe, efficient execution and positive customer interactions throughout project timelines.

Qualifications

• Understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Organization and multitasking ability.
• Ability to work independently in field conditions.
• Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Ability to perform tasks with hands above head for extended periods.
• Weight requirement and height considerations per job safety specs.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per OSHA and company policies; conducts safety training.
• Discusses access, power interruption, and scope with property owners; refers complex cases to supervisor.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
• Maintains customer relations through efficient completion of work and proper crew behavior.
• Investigates minor incidents/damage claims as delegated.
• Keeps accurate records, timesheets, and reports for crew operations.
• Controls crew costs through effective use of personnel and methods.
• Furnishes reports of orders completed and crew performance to supervisors.
• Produces periodic reports on incidents, equipment issues, and follow-up actions.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets.
• Sets up barriers and signs to protect employees and the public.
• Inspects and arranges repairs for tools, trucks, and equipment.
• Maintains clean work areas and vehicle housekeeping.
