Job summary

Frontier Communications Corporation is seeking a field technician to install, maintain and repair network facilities from station equipment to line cards. You will perform inside wiring for residential and business broadband, deploy networking gear, and read service orders and diagrams to complete installs.

You'll work outdoors in all weather, climb poles, use ladders and bucket trucks, and provide hands-on support to customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.
• Pole climbing certification required; cannot exceed 275 lbs. in full gear.
• Must complete company training and demonstrate ability to complete full installs.
• Ability to work independently and face-to-face with customers.
• Outdoor work in adverse weather and in confined spaces.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record; CDL preferred.
• Must be available for flexible scheduling, holidays, after hours and call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain inside wire for residential/business broadband service.
• Install and maintain networking equipment including Fiber to the Home, ONT, wireless routers, modems, and gateways.
• Read and understand service orders, trouble tickets, and drawings; perform maintenance on buried, aerial, and underground cables.
• Perform aerial work from poles, ladders, and bucket trucks; place aerial and buried drops.
• Aids/assists other departments; mentor co-workers; adapt to changes in technology and procedures.
• Read circuit diagrams and electrical schematics; use various test equipment to ensure quality.
