Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Merchant Specialist to provide advisory and solutions for merchant processing needs. This field-based role requires travel for in-person client meetings and will coordinate with Business Banking Relationship Managers and Merchant Solutions partners to grow net new business.

You will manage a robust pipeline, conduct pre-call planning, assess client needs, prepare proposals, analyze pricing, and oversee implementation documentation and contract renewals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Payments industry experience.
• 2+ years of direct sales experience.
• Expert knowledge of Digital Payments/Receivables, Merchant, or Treasury solutions.
• Proven experience cultivating and strengthening client and business partner relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision toward the achievement of personal and team goals.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills.
• Effective planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to quickly learn various product solutions.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Leverage consultative sales process and knowledge of various industries (including healthcare, retail, restaurant) to identify clients’ needs.
• Recommend solutions that meet clients’ needs with a focus on more complex opportunities and solutions.
• Achieve sales and revenue goals while balancing operational excellence, risk management, and client experience expectations, maintaining accurate records and adhering to Service Level Agreements.
• Build meaningful relationships and collaborates with internal partners to provide subject matter expertise on merchant payment processing pricing, software, gateways, and security.
• Identify opportunities proactively and develops a pipeline for sales opportunities with internal partners and clients.
• Act as a champion for clients by connecting expertise across the company to help them achieve their goals.
• Establish relationships with associations, centers of influence, and vendor partners and adapts to an ever-changing payment processing environment.
• Independently identify sales opportunities from the bank’s portfolio of clients.
