Job summary

Doyon Technical Services, LLC (DMS) is seeking a Mechanical Construction QC Specialist for a 5-month federal construction project at Hill AFB in Utah. The role focuses on on-site QC for mechanical features of work, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and approved requirements.

The ideal candidate has a PE registration or 5+ years of supervisory mechanical field experience, with strong coordination and documentation skills to support inspections, testing, and closeout activities.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineer with a current Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or a minimum of five years supervising mechanical features of work in the field.
• Able to be physically present on the project site during mechanical features of work.
• Working knowledge of mechanical construction methods, materials, equipment, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, and related technical requirements.
• Ability to effectively communicate field observations and coordinate with project personnel, subcontractors, and quality control staff.

Responsibilities

• Be physically present on the project site during mechanical features of work.
• Monitor mechanical construction activities for compliance with drawings, specs, and requirements.
• Observe installation, workmanship, and materials; communicate deficiencies to QC Manager and project team.
• Review mechanical drawings, specs, submittals, and RFIs to support field QC activities.
• Coordinate with QC Manager, Superintendent, and subcontractors on mechanical features of work.
• Support inspections, testing, and verification activities for mechanical construction.
• Document mechanical field observations for QC records and reports.
• Participate in preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for mechanical work.
• Verify deficiencies are communicated for correction.
• Assist with punch list, inspections, commissioning, and closeout activities.
• Attend project and QC meetings; follow safety and site requirements.
