Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. seeks a CMT Technician to travel to construction sites to inspect contractors’ work and perform basic field soil and concrete tests under supervision. Data is captured on smartphones/tablets for immediate transmission to project managers.

You will develop professionally as you gain experience, with potential certifications considered and a clear pathway for career progression within our engineering team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• captioned certifications such as ACI Level I and DOT/WACEL/ICC are a plus.
• Prior construction or field testing experience preferred.
• Ability to read plans, interpret specs and safety rules.
• Able to multitask and meet deadlines; work independently or in teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete.
• Prepare detailed field reports with results and observations.
• Conduct laboratory tests on soil and concrete and report results.
• Evaluate site conditions and provide field recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors and staff about construction issues.
