Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. is seeking a CMT Technician to help ensure public safety by traveling to construction sites to inspect contractor work and perform basic field soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete tests under supervision.

With minimal paperwork, all inspections and test data are entered on smartphones/tablets and transmitted to Project Managers for review. You’ll develop your career through on‑the‑job training and progressive technician roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior construction or field testing experience preferred.
• ACI Level I Concrete or equivalent certifications are a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, safety rules.
• Must be able to travel and lift up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete.
• Prepare detailed field reports with results and observations.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete and report results.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff on construction issues.
