Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. seeks a CMT Technician to inspect contractor work at sites and perform field soil and concrete tests under supervision, ensuring compliance with project specs. Data is entered on phones/tablets for immediate PM review.

Responsibilities include field testing of soil, asphalt, masonry, and concrete; report preparation; basic lab tests; and site condition evaluation. Travel and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 12+ months of relevant field testing experience.
• Some construction experience required; prior field testing preferred.
• Maintenance of ACI Level I Concrete, State DOT, or ICC certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and safety rules.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record and travel willingness.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Perform field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and observations.
• Perform basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and report results.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff on construction issues.
• Travel to construction sites as required and input data via mobile devices.
