Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Material Coordinator to provide project-level materials coordination for a large transmission construction project in the North Central United States.

The role involves material receipt, storage, tracking, staging, and delivery to keep field operations running smoothly. You will work with Construction, Project, and Quality teams to ensure materials are available, traceable, and compliant with SCM systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; certificate or diploma in Materials Management, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is asset.
• 3–5 years of experience in materials coordination, logistics, or supply chain roles supporting construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting large-scale linear infrastructure projects, including transmission lines or substations, is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with laydown management and field logistics environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt, handling, storage, and distribution of project materials across multiple laydown yards and assembly areas.
• Support material staging and sequencing to align with construction schedules and crew needs.
• Coordinate delivery of materials to active work fronts with field supervision.
• Monitor material availability and identify shortages or delivery conflicts that may impact execution.
• Maintain accurate material inventories to prevent shortages, excess inventory, or material loss.
• Track material movement between laydown yards, assembly areas, and work fronts using approved systems and logs.
• Support material traceability requirements, including heat numbers, batch tracking, and certifications.
• Coordinate with Quality to ensure material documentation supports inspection and turnover requirements.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordination of material deliveries in alignment with plans.
• Maintain logs for tools, equipment, and material certifications as required.
• Promote adherence to SCM procedures and educate teams on material request, handling, and documentation protocols.
