Forbes Bros. Group of Companies in the United States seeks a Project Environmental Manager to lead the environmental program for a North Central transmission line project.

You will direct field Environmental Specialists, coordinate with construction leadership, and ensure compliance from planning through reclamation and closeout. You’ll build an in‑field team, manage spill response and inspections, and serve as the primary environmental contact with clients and regulators, aligning with safety

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science or related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience leading environmental practitioners in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and EMS for linear infrastructure construction.
  • Experience with SWPPP, spill prevention/response, erosion control, wildlife protection, and reclamation.
  • Ability to work with construction supervision and provide clear direction when work must stop or change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental compliance: implement the project environmental program and ensure construction activities meet regulatory approvals, permit conditions, client requirements, and company standards.
  • Partner with construction leadership: integrate environmental requirements into work plans and schedules with clear, practical direction for crews and subcontractors.
  • Manage risks in the field: identify constraints, develop mitigation measures, and stop or redirect work when needed for environmental reasons.
  • Lead and develop the environmental team: coordinate field coverage, set priorities, provide technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Oversee incident response: lead spill response coordination, investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Manage plans and stakeholder relationships: prepare/review environmental plans and serve as primary contact for environmental matters.
  • Support reclamation and closeout: coordinate pre/post-construction activities and reclamation planning.
