Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Field Material Controller for Advanced Manufacturing to manage materials and capital equipment at our Saint Francisville, LA project sites. You will handle field material control tasks under supervision and contribute to procurement and project delivery processes.

The role emphasizes on-site materials management, collaboration with the Material Control Manager, and adherence to PO terms, policies, and OS&D resolution. Strong MS Excel and MM software experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, supply chain, operations management, or equivalent project experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in capital equipment material control is preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on site experience within complex, large-scale construction environments.
• OSHA 10-hour Construction Certificate. OSHA 30 preferred.
• Experience in Advanced Manufacturing (or related industry) projects is ideal.
• Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
• 2+ years of experience using Materials Management software and/or Enterprise Purchasing Systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Smart Materials).
• Interest in pursuing a career in Construction Management or Procurement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Saint Francisville, LA.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of material control processes, procedures, and tools and project delivery workflows.
• Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
• Review Shipment Release Request documents and ensure approvals align with POs and Material Control plans.
• Advise stakeholders on creating shipment releases and understanding the shipment authorization process.
• Administer MRRs, MIRs, and OS&Ds.
• Maintain a register of materials requiring preservation activities.
• Evaluate material control issues and apply remedies.
• Maintain material control documentation in a repository.
• Identify and alert management to material control risks.
• Coordinate OS&D resolution with project teams.
• Work under close supervision with no direct reports.
• Coordinate with project/department personnel for material control activities.
