State of Indiana, INDOT Vincennes District, is seeking an experienced supervisor for highway maintenance operations. The role focuses on assigning work, ensuring materials and equipment readiness, and supervising staff to meet safety and quality standards.

The position requires a CDL (Class A or B) or the ability to obtain one within 90 days, plus extensive knowledge of highway maintenance and safety regulations. A high school diploma is acceptable with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge of highway maintenance practices and equipment.
• Experience in maintenance planning and workforce supervision.

Responsibilities

• Comply with INDOT Safety Policy and Procedures.
• Assign work to units ensuring materials and equipment are available.
• Ensure efficient use of personnel, time, and equipment.
• Supervise a unit of employees and explain programs affecting the work.
• Oversee operations and maintenance with on-time work orders.
• Support winter operations including snow/ice removal and brine equipment maintenance.
• Recruit, onboard, and train staff; support professional development.
• Set expectations, monitor progress, provide feedback, and ensure quality.
