Job summary

The State of Indiana's INDOT Monticello Sub District is seeking seasonal Winter Maintenance Workers to perform snow and ice removal and related duties. You will operate snow plows and traffic equipment to keep highways safe and passable, and assist with traffic signage and pavement markings as needed.

This 180-day seasonal position offers a $21.00 hourly rate, bonus opportunities on start dates, and potential for full-time supervision based on needs.

Qualifications

• CDL required and valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Able to move 50 pounds and operate winter maintenance equipment.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and long hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain roads.
• Move and load supplies and materials as needed.
• Winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Emergency response tasks such as traffic control and placing signs.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and pre-trip inspections.
